at Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum

The big question facing the Sox going into 1975 was if they would win without Dick Allen. Richard Dozer thought so-he picked the Sox to finish second. Bob Verdi wasn't as confident, he saw them dropping to fifth.

The Sox took the field for a night opener vs. the Oakland A's. Charlie Finley's team had beaten the Orioles in the 1974 ALCS, then dispatched the Los Angeles Dodgers in five games to win...
