Game notes: The 1927 Yankees lived up to their rep as "Murderer's Row" during this game. The White Sox jumped to a quick 2-0 lead in the 1st on RBIs by Joe Jackson and Chick Gandil. The Yankees struck right back in the bottom half-an RBI triple by Gehrig and a 2-run homer by Meusel put them in front 3-2. Nemo Leibold tied it in the 5th with an RBI single, but Lou Gehrig got it back for the Yanks in the 6th when he crushed a solo home run. Babe Ruth iced it in the 7th by smashing a 3 run jobber off of relief man Grover Lowdermilk. The fans went wild, having seen exactly what they paid to see.

The series now moves to Comiskey Park for Game 3, which will feature a duel between Waite Hoyt of the Yankees and Dickie Kerr of the White Sox.
