Jose is going tonight, Floyd tomorrow, and then Javy will go Sunday, pushing Buehrle's start to Monday. Apparently to give us 'favorable match-ups.'

Meh, I think this is a relevant enough topic it deserves its own thread, rather than someone having to dig through 9 pages of speculation/reaction to a rain out.

Yeah, it's kinda bad that Buehrle is going 8 days betweens starts, but you can tell where they are going with this. Two lefties back-to-back against Oakland and Tampa Bay, then they'll split them up. The rotation will eventually get to Vazquez, Buehrle, Floyd, Contreras, Danks.

What will they do when tomorrow gets snowed out?

In that case, I think they skip Floyd.

Yeah, I know that quality start he put up really sucked.

That blows. I went monday and watched Javy's slow ass and now I'm going on Sunday to watch the same thing (but is will be 20 degrees colder!).

Tonight with Willis and Contreras--block off four hours for that one.

Why skip Floyd? He seems to have success against the Tigers.

You should be thrilled, he's our best pitcher

Having the best stuff does not necessarily mean best pitcher. I'm a huge Javy fan, but until he shows he's consistently better than Buehrle, he is not our best pitcher.

29 other GM's are going to be severely depressed. They live to watch him pitch.

Vazquez was good last year...and Buehrle was better.

What you throw has nothing to do with how good you are. If that was the case, then Buehrle would be our #5 starter.

uh oh, oeo opened the gates. FWIW I agree, but stats will say different.

Buehrle v. Vasquez the epic battle. K's v Groundouts. 1 years play determining the best pitcher, or gauging on a 3 year window? Career?

This is going to become a marvelous thread.

K's don't mean jack to me. I feel like the best way to judge a pitcher is through ERA, and I'll stick to that. After that, it's all based on how you get the outs, and how much run support you get. There was a stat that went up during the Sunday night game that said Buehrle has gotten the 3rd worst run support in the AL, in games he's started since 2001.

Again, I like Javy, but he still has to show consistency before he's the best pitcher on this team.

Javy was pretty awful in '06, too.

The Sox were pretty awful in the second half of 06. Period.

I sure hope Mark is fine and its all just the truth they want a leftie to be up against the A's.
