(Sorry if we already knew this, but I searched and didn't see the actual date)

According to http://www.jersey-joe.com/mlb-baseball-special-edition-jerseys-buyers-guide.html, at least. Pictures of the 83 Uniform and the July 4th Camouflage Uniform, too.

Interestingly, that's also Youth XL 1983 Jerseys Day, which makes sense, but it's also Harold Baines Statue Day, so I think all three things together probably confirms that the statue will have Harold in an 83 uniform.

Friday the 18th is listed as "80s Night", so you'd think they'd wear the uniforms then too, but what do I know?

I was just on my way to posting this...did you find it on Jersey Joe via Uniwatch, by any chance?

I did, which I meant to mention. Oops. But, yes, Uniwatch is one of my first stops every morning...

I loved that "winning ugly" team in '83. Not too sure about those uniforms tho. The softball ones were one of my favorites.

I remember reading that post! I thought someone from WSI was responsible for that.

Good work!

Can they just rename the whole thing "Huisj day" since I was born on July 20, 1983 and Harold Baines became my childhood hero and all-time favorite player a few years later? It's just too perfect. Crazy.

:scratch:I've always thought the '83 uniform WAS the softball uniform. The '77 uniform was the pajamas.

Uniwatch is great... love that stuff. I saw that jersey joe link and knew where you got it from :D: Thanks for connecting the dots, though; I wouldn't have thought of that.

Oh - and while I LOVE the 83 uni's, I'm also a big fan of those Oriole's thorowbacks. Maybe it's just because those are the first uniforms I saw on baseball cards and at Comiskey, and the nostalgia is strong. Regardless, I'm a sucker for them (as well as any powder blue throwback I'm in love with the Royals pseudo-throwbacks!).

The dark blue 70s/80s ones were some of my favorite. They seem like straight of the early 20th century.

That would be because they were based on the road uniforms the Sox wore from 1902-1916.

I'm a big fan of powder blue and a bunch of those uniforms from the 1970s and '80s. But when you say you liked the orange O's uni, do you mean this:

or this:

because the second one are some of the ugliest uniform ever.

Those were the Orioles Sunday uniforms. They actually wore them one time at Comiskey Park in the early 70's.

Didn't Earl Weaver used to make them wear it when he felt they weren't playing hard enough? Those uniforms were UGLY!

Oh, HELL no! I was referring to the first, the orange on white... those are gorgeous - the orange on orange are just hideous. I remember those not-too-fondly!
