They start 6-1. The last time I remember them being hot was in 2005 (fell out of first place at the end of June). I'm not sayin, I'm just sayin...

This is worth remembering when we start getting giddy over a 5-2 start, since we "know" the O's are bound to suck over the long haul.

For much of that period, we were neck and neck with them for best record. Then they went into an amazing slump.
We had better pitching all the way through. Just like this year.

Glad they're not in our division. Hopefully they'll cool off when we see them next week. Didn't they start off real hot in 2005 or 2006?

I will be interested to see when they run into games against the expected top three in their division.

It was '05, them and the Nationals were red hot and I remember some papers saying "The three hottest teams right now are the Orioles, the Nationals and the White Sox...and out of those three, it will be the White Sox that are the first to fall apart." Oops!

I swear people were avoiding me at work today because I'm already giving off that gloating vibe!

I remember my cousin talking trash about the Sox being a fluke early on and saying "wait til they play Baltimore." They were 24-7 at the time and they won the first two and split the series. Who knew I'd never think of the "2005 Orioles" again until three years later..

I silently cheer the O's. ANYBODY rather than the Yanks or Sawks.

As far as the East goes, I will root on the Rays and Blue Jays myself. Even though I hate Roy Halladay with the passion of a 1000 burning suns.

They'll still finish in last place.

They indeed started hott that season. June was a bit of a bump when they went 12-15 but in July they went 8-18 and never had another .500+ month all season (except 2-0 in October).

They lost the lead near the end of June and by the start of August they were 10 games back. They ended the season 21 back.

Baltimore sports fans are a notch below Boston/New York on the obnoxious level, but since I live amongst them, I hope they end up in last place. It's insufferable around here already.

I can't wait to watch the Sox beat 'em twice at Camden Yards next week. :D:
