Park on Michigan Ave and walk.

Take public transportation.

I tried the Pace bus yesterday, and it was great. Buses were lined up by Gate 5, and it was easy to find the Burr Ridge / Bolingbrook one. The fare was $3. The bus left at 6:27, and was at the Burr Ridge Park & Ride (http://www.mapquest.com/maps/mcclintock+dr+at+lincolnshire+dr+60527) by 7:12, even with all that Sox traffic on the Stevenson.

Im happy to pay whatever they want on Opening Day for tailgating purposes. The other 30 games I go to I'll be happy to park a few blocks away and walk.

Can you pay cash for Lot G (the one on the west side of the tracks)? Or is the cash lots only the ones south of the stadium/green lots?

This will come in handy for my impending move to the SW burbs. Thanks!

How soon before the game do those busses arrive and how quickly do they leave after the game is over?

They usually leave half hour after the game is over. Sometimes it's shorter or longer depending on how quickly people get back to the bus.

What's interesting is that I just bought 4 tickets to Sox vs. Yankees and I couldn't buy a parking pass online, they were sold out. Also, I made the mistake of parking a couple of blocks south of the Cell last year to park for free and got hasseled relentlessly for cash on my way back to the car. Won't make that mistake again.

If you can handle parking a few blocks away, there's plenty of free street parking.

I obviously don't know as a fact, but I read that as he maybe only took it one way.

However, I did read in the paper not too long ago that fares went DOWN this season. :bandance:

I've taken it a few times, and it's really a great deal. Can't beat it, in my opinion. Unless, of course you're tailgating.

Nope, $3 each way. I only took the post-game ride. I took my usual Burlington Northern ride to Union Station, the X28 to Jackson and Wabash where I work, cut out from work at 2:15, made it to the park via the Red Line by 2:30, and Pace home. It was a public transportation extravaganza!

Did not know about the PACE service, this sounds very good.

I know Metra allows you to drink alcahol on board, is this the same on PACE?

Will never use a green coupon again ...... It took me almost 20 min to get from the 35st exit to Pershing...UNREAL.

It's Red Coupn or Public Transportation for me.

Unless we can can confirm that the lot West of the tracks on 35th takes Green or Cash?

Park on Michigan Ave and walk.

You don't even need to go that far. Park on State or in that new townhome development. All kinds of spots in there. Or even on 35th.

Troof.

On 35th, the first spot past the viaduct was open. I couldn't take it though because I had to stop at the bank a few blocks down. The dream spot, Jerry.

Some day..

No.

That is a permit free area because of IIT.

We parked yesterday in Lot L and were surprised to see it had been paved with bricks. (Used to be gravel.) Made for much better tailgating. I know the more northerly lots are usually preferred for pre-game partying, but they can be such a pain to get out of.

They also tore down the western wall next to Lot L, which seemed to help with egress, too.

Now I have to do a thread search to see if anyone's commented yet on the biggest innovation: You can now get giardinera with your Italian sausage in the upper deck. :bandance:

What Daver said.

All the red areas have free, unrestricted parking. Just mind your signs. State for instance has some time restrictions here and there but for the most part it's good.

Right by the police station is a nice location (@ 35th) - never had any issues (yet). It's no more than a 10 min walk.

Why did you have to show us a picture of US Cellular when empty?
