View Full Version : Lousy Schedule

LITTLE NELL
04-06-2008, 04:01 PM
We play Detroit tonight and open at home in the afternoon. Lets say the game tonight is over at 11, by the time they shower and get to the airport its 1AM, arrive O'hare at 2:30, home and in their beds by 4. How much energy are the Sox going to have for the home opener? I thought baseball had adressed this issue before, were you do not play a night game on getaway day when theres an afternoon game the next day. Lets pray they dont go into extra innings tonight.

Its allllllll about the $$$. They'd rather have a game like CHI/DET on Sunday night prime time tv in April so that when it is nice and sunny & warm they can show NYY/BOS.

The schedule does suck, especially the 9 home games in May, but this is what we get when a computer creates it.

Still, I think this game was a day game then it got moved up by ESPN.

I think they'll be fine. Ozzie gave a few guys a day off yesterday, and also might tonight as well.

All Sunday games are day games unless being on ESPN

I would be happy if the Sox were never played baseball on Sunday night, at least April through September -- my perspective differing if there must be night postseason baseball. I don't like Sunday night baseball in general. Sunday is supposed to be a getaway day for one team, often both, and those of us who have to travel a little bit to see baseball games often have their best shot at seeing Sunday afternoon games.

He will sell it , but it is a tough sale when Thomas is hitting about .500.
doubtful that granderson would have been hitting much better.

During the broadcast Ed and Steve were talking about that they were taking a bus back to Chicago for some reason, the whole team is. That I do not understand why they wouldn't charter a plane?? Anyone else hear that? They mentioned it during the game friday and yesterday.

My understanding was that while the actual team flies, Ed and Steve take a bus. Perhaps because The Score is cheaper than the White Sox?

No such chart exists. It shows that AJ's currently in a steep decline and therefore calling him mediocre would be optimistic. I believe he's supposed to hit .175 this year.... or was that last year?

Anderson was blessed with a mighty hump for storing water during long trips through the desert. That's the only reason he's invited to spring training, and the reason he doesn't play when the team goes up north.
