I saw the crawl earlier tonight, "Mike Hampton scratched from start tonight."

Seriously... this guy can't possibly get hurt EVERYTIME he steps on a baseball field.

It's seriously near funny, not even sad anymore... the guy steps on a field and hurts something how is that even possible?!

What can he possibly hurt next?

This will put some pressure on Atlanta's pen; if they can step it up, they still can make a run in the east. But if recent history tells me anything...

And to make this even more shocking... He's going on the DL!

The Braves will place Mike Hampton on the 15-day disabled list with a strained pectoral and recall Jo-Jo Reyes prior to Friday's game.

Atlanta's version of Kerry Wood. At least Wood has been on the mound in 3 years.

Is there any deal that comes close to being as bad as Mike Hampton's contract?

The only one I can think of is Carl Pavano. :dunno:

Dreifort is the worst based on as you said, no track record what so ever for the deal. At least he did something with the team, albeit small and for a few years. Hampton at least had a record of being a very effective pitcher before the contract.

Shouldn't be too bad for the Braves, Reyes isn't bad.

I beg to differ. Aggravated the same injury in his rehab game on Wednesday

There is seriously no way... it's mind-blowing at this point.

Considering The Boy Wonder had another predictable implosion yesterday, the Baby Bears would probably be better off if Kerry just went Mike Hampton's way and stayed to injured to pitch. :o:

Instead of starting up a new thread for it, I dug up the un-official Mike Hampton hurts himself for the umpteenth time thread. It is indeed mind blowing at this point.

You were dead right about him during the off-season.
