For what? Whatever the reason might be...

Your opening day starting 2B: Alexei Ramirez

xD, Kenny's dream has come true.

Quick! Get Uribe off waivers!

False. Not with his defense. Uribe will be, unless a trade goes down. In fact, I'd put $$ that says Ramirez will NOT be the starter on opening day.

His back...it started bothering him during winter ball.

Ozzie has already mentioned that Ozuna will be starting at 2B on Opening Day. After that, we'll see. I'd imagine we'll see a mix of Ozuna, Ramirez, and Bourgeious.

Hopefully Richar can get healthy...he's still our best bet at second.

Joe Richar Morgan is out for 6 weeks!

Cancel the season.

Did they find what exactly is causing Richar's back problems?

I hope it is only 4-6 weeks, we all know from past player experiences how back problems don't always easily go away.

excuse me. I forgot about Ozuna - what I should have said is that if there's a true "everyday" starter at 2nd, Uribe is the only option starting the season. A platoon could work, especially with Ozuna - but I still find it unlikely that Ramirez breaks with the big club.

Off topic, when will the lazy dudes that run Yahoo fantasy baseball put Ramirez in their database. One could see this happening from a mile away due to the millions Ramirez received in December...

Tough break for Richar, but it was pretty apparent that he needed seasoning at the farm...he'll be back...hopefully sitting behind the best rookie in the AL!

I don't know if you're getting an attitude or not with the 'excuse me,' but I wasn't replying to your post...

I believe 100% Ramirez has made the club, even before this Richar news.

I really dont like Bourgeious. i recently watched a game and his arm is really weak especially when he turns double plays

Can everyone ****ing forget about Iguchi already? You guys are like Ben Stiller's character in "There's Something About Mary." Except in the end, you won't be getting Iguchi back.

Exactly what has Ramirez done that makes it impossible for him to make this team?

Here's an explanation of Richar's injury:

http://blogs.chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports_hardball/2008/03/richar-destined.html

Sounds painful, but - and correct me if I'm wrong - at least it sounds like something that isn't likely to be chronic (such as a bad back).

A friend of mine told me that Ramirez making the team would be great for Contreras since they are both Cuban

Ramirez could be Contreras' grand child, I don't know how much the two would have in common to talk about.

I heard that if Brian Anderson makes the team, it would be great for Gavin Floyd since they're both caucasian.

Ramirez was gonna make the team ahead of him anyway, and with good reason.

Maybe we can start the bag of balls we got for Iguchi at 2B.

This must mean Ramirez gets the second base job for the time being unless we get Mark Ellis or Brian Roberts within the next couple of days.

True, but let's assume for a moment that he's gone.

EDIT: I posted this before I knew Uribe was pulled off waivers, but he could still be traded, so you never know.

The injury was unfortunate but frankly because he was late getting into camp in the first place the odds were long on him making the team to start.

It is actually a stress fracture of the rib. While it is unfortunate that Danny will be sidelined for the next month, it does not sound like this is the sort of thing that will linger for the long term.
