Good find. At least we can look back and have a chuckle at 1986.

Indeed.

Too bad You Tube doesn't have Ron Kittle's WMAQ radio "If you can't be at the game..." commercial. Kittle saying "A ball, you cross-eyed old goat" in monotone was hilarious.

I don't know what's worst about that commercial: the cheesy 1980s music, general manager Hawk Harrelson in his cowboy hat, or the mention of the "World Champion Kansas City Royals".

It was a better commercial then Hawk was as a G.M. that's for sure.

Ozzie in that commercial looks younger than Ozzie Jr. is today.

Thought along same lines..probably last time we will ever hear "World Champion KC Royals" And hopefully last time Hawk will ever be GM (at least in this neck of the woods)

It sounds like Kittle says "Kaminsky Park." Is that Don Drysdale on the voice-over at the end?

Anyone remember the commercial Oz did for the San Diego Chicken sponsored by Browns Chicken. He REALLY couldn't speak English very well then (86-87?)

His line was:

Eat dis (while holding up a fried chicken leg)
Laugh Dis (while holding up a picture of the San Diego Chicken)

It was a TV Commercial for WMAQ radio. I also liked the one with the Janitor in the posh office putting the game on the radio while helping himself to a cigar and brandy.

Who remembers a commercial during the '97 season that showed that lady explaining a bunch of promos the Sox do at the ballpark and then Frank and Belle, who were present, finally got fed up and were like "**** this" before walking away?

Putting Fisk in left field was a crime against baseball and against good taste.

I can sort of understand dumping LaRussa; I was never his hugest fan.

Why did the White Sox need Ron Hassey? They, like, had a catcher already. You know, that guy you stuck out in left field?

I still have trouble imagining Ron Kittle in anything other than the famous White Sox industrial softball uniforms of the mid-'80s.

The Hawk was (and is) nuts.
