I say 3-3. One win in Cleveland and two in Detroit.

I'll go one further...Sox sweep the Twins the following week to open their home schedule. :bandance:

"6-0. The Sox are going all the way and into the post season undefeated."-Soxwon:redneck

Seriously though, I want to say 4-2 but I think it will most likely be 2-4. I hope I am pleasantly surprised.

I'm saying there's no chance all 6 games get played. I think of what does get played they probably are at .500.

Can't we just preface this question with, "assuming all six games are played"? I have no interest in reading about what you all think the weather will be like during opening week.

Everyone bitches about the weather but no one ever does anything about it. Be a pioneer!

2-6. 26 will also be the total number of runs surrendered by Floyd, Danks, and Contreras.

We'll have 8 decisions after 6 games. That sure is something.

I'm guessing at Cleveland and Detroit's rotations based on what I've read on their fan boards and what I think is likely. Given that, here are short precaps (yeah, I just made that word up) for our first six games:

3/31 at Indians
Buehrle will pitch well, going 7.1 and giving up 3, but Sabathia will come out on top to open the season. The Sox get two in the 9th off Joe Blow on a 2-out, 2-run single by Dye, but it's not quite enough. Final score, 3-2.

4/2 at Indians
Carmona struggles early, giving up a 3-run shot to Thome in the first inning, and 2 more in the 2nd before settling down, and Vazquez is good enough, giving up 3 in 6 innings. The pen is a bit wobbly, giving up 2 in the 7th, but the Sox' bats explode for 4 more in the 9th to break the tie. Sox win 9-5.

4/3 at Indians
The Indians tag Danks for 5 runs, 4 earned over 5 innings, including a bases-loaded triple by Sizemore in the 5th. The Sox mount a comeback, but Cleveland adds two in the 8th against MacDougal to win 7-5 and take the series.

4/4 at Tigers
Dontrelle Willis makes his Tigers debut and is greeted by 4 runs in the first inning. He settles down but gives up 2 more in the 6th, and exits after 5.2. Contreras shows what he's worth by going 5 strong innings, but throws a lot of pitches and runs into trouble in the 6th. Detroit gets 2, and then 5 in the 7th to take the lead including a 2-run double by Miguel Cabrera, and they don't look back. Dark Clouds begin to come out of the woodwork at WSI, as this is the second game in a row the Sox pen has blown. 7-6 Tigers.

4/5 at Tigers
Floyd pitches 7 strong innings and gives up just 1 unearned run on an error by Swisher, a fly ball that he loses in the lights and the rain with 2 outs and a man on 3rd in the 5th. Robertson gives up 3 over 6 innings, and Linebrink and Jenks do the job, working a perfect inning each. Sox win 5-1.

4/6 at Tigers
Buehrle improves on his opening day performance and is in midseason form, keeping the Tigers hitless until giving up a solo shot to Ordonez in the 4th. He goes the distance on 105 pitches. Verlander is almost as good, but runs into trouble in the 7th. The Sox rally for 5 runs against him and the Tigers' already injury-decimated bullpen for a second consecutive convincing 5-1 victory, both on national TV.

After 6 games, the Sox are 3-3. The Dark Clouds are fast to point out that Linebrink and Jenks are the only Sox relievers who have really pitched well so far, but there's plenty of optimism to be had with the starters having a 2.92 ERA and the Sox averaging 5.5 runs per game. Bring on the Twins!

Wow, I spent a lot of time on that...at least it was fun!

3-3... What's Hawk's recipe for success? Win 2 of every 3 at home and go .500 on the road?

That amounts to a 95 win season, which just might be enough to take this thing.

3/31 at Indians

Sox kick ass.

4/2 at Indians

Sox kick butt.

4/3 at Indians

Sox rule.

4/4 at Tigers

Sox leave the Kitties talking to themselves.

4/5 at Tigers

Tigers cry to their mommies after the game.

4/6 at Tigers

The dogs owned by the Tigers change the locks on the doors so the players are no longer allowed in their own homes.
This is how it will play out.

All season long!

If it is an odd number, they are probably one game under. I don't think they start out terrible or great. No 5-0 or 1-4 start.

I'm gonna be optimistic and say 4-2. I think that we will surprise a lot of people and pull 2 out of three from both the Indians and the Tigers.

2-2. There'll be two snow outs.
