Thought this was kind of funny and worth sharing. The Sun-Times did a Q&A with Zambrano and Buehrle and when the question of, "would you play for the crosstown team?" came up, Zambrano said:

"I told my family and my friends that before my career ends, I want to play for the White Sox. Right now, my priority is helping this club. That's what I am trying to do. But I used to be, when I was growing up, I was a White Sox fan. But every time I say that, the Chicago Cubs fans get jealous and ****** off.''http://www.suntimes.com/sports/baseball/cubs/845475,CST-SPT-soxcub16.article

Okay.... let's send them BA and Zambrano can live out his "dream" to play for us...

Can he play third base?

That would kill two birds with one stone. Jason Marqis would move in the the rotation and quit complaining and they could get their Starting Right handed Center Fielder.

I would give my tickets away if he signed with the SOX.

Is he planning to change positions? He said in the past that he doesnt want to play in the AL because he wont have a chance to bat...

That's awesome - lol!

Regarding Zambrano - I hate him much like I hated A.J. before he signed with us. I think I'd like him quite a bit in Black and Silver.

So Cat, I'll PM you my address. Just forward the tickets if Z ever comes aboard!

He could DH on days he isn't starting.

For the sort of money he would demand, you would expect him to be a 30-30-30 guy -- 30 homers, 30 stolen bases and 30 wins.

No kidding. Why would we want a guy that wins about 15 games and strikes out 200+ a season, when we can have Gavin Floyd?

I really really did hate Zambrano for a while there...but for some reason he's endeared himself to me a little and not just because of this quote.

Maybe it was him punching Barrett :)

I read that yesterday. It might not happen the near future, but he might be a commodity for us some years from now.

Ozzie and Zambozo in the same clubhouse? The walls will not be strong enough!

Exactly.

Also, I hated AJ, too, before he donned the black and silver. Now I like him. Big Z falls into that category of player, too.

We may all loathe him now, but I think we'd all learn to like him alot if he's getting outs and winning games for the Sox.

Zambrano is not necessarily an awful guy. He's just very arrogant and his antics piss a lot of people off. Kinda like AJ...

I wonder what cubbies fans make of this....

I wouldn't mind Zambrano in White Sox uniform one bit. Unfortunately, if we ever got him we'd probably end up with him at the end of his career.

Exactly what I was thinking. I don't like him now as a person, because his ego/temper/mouth is out of control. But Ozzie has a way of keeping his guys under control. Like how after Buehrle "accused" the Rangers of stealing signals, Ozzie was the first one to go to the media saying that Mark got shelled because he was pitching like garbage.

As a pitcher, though, he'd be an ace for us if we had him today.

Funny how that word is bleeped out here, but the actual word is not bleeped in the Sun-Times. I guess we have higher standards than the Sun-Times.

How many years did Zambrano sign with the Cubs for last year? Five plus an option? The bottom line is that I don't ever forsee any possible blockbuster trade that would have the Cubs sending their #1 starter to the White Sox. That leaves the possiblity of Zambrano coming over here as a free agent after 2012 or 2013. Who knows what you're getting at that point...the Sox may not even want him at that point.

As long as Z isn't a clubhouse problem, if he were to come to the Sox, he'd quickly become embraced by Sox fans. He wins and eats innings. What more do you want?

He basically said he'd pitch for the Cubs as a last resort, if no other team wanted him.

I'm a fan of the uniform, not the player. I'd love to see Zambrano in a White Sox uniform, he's a good player. I'd hate to see Buerhle in a Cubs uniform.

He'd probably be at the backend of our rotation then following the likes of Buerhle and twenty game winners Gavin Floyd and John Danks.

A.J. may be an ass, but he's not out there trying to show up the opposing players, like Zambozo.

If Carlos got his head straight and matured 4-5 years down the line, I wouldn't mind him on the Sox. Still, the Cubs are likely to burn out his arm by then, so it probably won't happen.

Do we watch the same AJ. I love AJ but you have to admit he is a trouble maker.

It's not like he ever deliberately stomped on Aaron Boone or slammed home plate after (cleanly) clocking Michael Barrett

Yes I will because I am willing to bet that there is a lot that goes on during the game that we dont know about. There is a reason AJ is one of the most hated players in baseball.

Apparently, according to other MLB players, AJ is constantly talking **** behind the plate to opposing hitters

I'm going with what I see happen on the field of play. Zambrano is the biggest hotdog out there.

It's a catchers job to try and get in the batters head. Do you think he is the only one that does this?

How may pitchers do you see walking round the mound numerous times, taking his hat off, pointing to the sky, yelling at umpires and 3rd base coaches?

No, but trying to defend AJ while ripping on Zambrano is kind of silly.

Both guys annoy their opponents, end of story.
