I don't see any problem with it. Hell, if there's any chance that Haeger ever makes the Sox rotation/pen, I think it'd be a brilliant move.

Who is Boston planning on using as a backup catcher this year then? I would have to imagine they feel that whoever it is can catch Wakefield because Varitek was always pretty awful catching the knuckleball.
