His back is acting up and the Red Sox fear a 16 hour flight from Florida and then another 10 hours back to Los Angeles not worth it.

Plus it seems 50-50 if Dice-K is going to Japan as he plans to be in the US for the birth of his child. If the baby comes fine..if not he isn't going.
