Carl is very clever with these every year. And I like the departure of the ship and crew style for this one. I think he'll have more possibilities for humor here.

It started in 2006. In Palehose 6 the team were pirates on ship captained by Ozzie. In 2007 it became a spaceship with the team wandering through space. You can find these on the net. I recommend it; they are great.

for those that have not seen the first two years.

2006 - http://palehosesix.blogspot.com/

2007 - http://www.palehose7.blogspot.com/

I think this is the funniest comic on the web. Carl is a freakin comedic genius, and his insight into the Sox is brilliant.

Do I dare say, funnier than Calvin and Hobbes? Maybe not as funny as the C & H's Snow man strips, but definitely up there.

I can see where a Sox fan might enjoy Palehose over Calvin and Hobbes. C and H had more mainstream appeal, though. You have to be a Sox fan to find some of it funny.

But Carl's style is very much like Calvin and Hobbes.

Neither, that donkey didn't start dancing after one win and it won't fall on it's face after one loss. Note the number of posts in the post game thread last night after a loss compared to the number in the winning post game threads the past several nights. I think this is Carl's best work artistically, he has kicked up the detail in the drawings to a new level. I think his humor is only getting better and more demented.

When Swisher hit that homer this weekend and did all the crazy stuff on the bench, high thighing Herm included, I just thought of the bringing the awesome strip. I was waiting for Swish to pull out a guitar and a beer and do a little shredin and drinkin.

I don't know if any prize could be nobler than the Nobel Prize, but I digress.

As someone who liked Aaron Rowand, was sorry to see him traded and disappointed that he chose to play with the Giants AND YET bewildered with the Rowand love at WSI, I have to say the 2008 Statistical Team Leaders strip is the funniest thing I've seen in a long time.

There might be a Rowand Legend in Philadelphia, where he broke his nose to help Gavin Floyd pick up his first major league shutout. If there is, it can't compare to the White Sox legend. By not signing with the Sox there are just so many more balls hit in the gap off Sox pitchers that he makes look easy in some imaginations because he doesn't have to chase them down in reality.

I thought he's putting the hat into his saddlebag. In the first panel, while the slaughter is going on, Don Guillote sees the Palehose 6 on the shore and races over there (horse's feet going really really fast, horse going not so fast -- I love it) and then he retrieves the hat of the vanquished Captain Hand.
