Hahaha, look at this stupid poll CNNSi put on their mlb page:

Who is the biggest homer (least objective) announcer calling games today?
Chip Carey, Cubs
Skip Carey, Braves
Dave Niehaus, Mariners
Ken Harrelson, White Sox
John Sterling, Yankees

Suprisingly, hawk is in the lead. the standings, as of now:

Chip Carey, Cubs 18%
Skip Carey, Braves 18%
Dave Niehaus, Mariners 18%
Ken Harrelson, White Sox 24%
John Sterling, Yankees 22%
Total: * 157 votes

Chip Carey -- 19%
Skip Carey -- 27%
Dave Niehaus -- 15%
Ken Harrelson -- 16%
John Sterling -- 23%
Total Votes -- 1708

Those numbers are better, but Chip is much more of a homer than Skip. But it is nice to see the Careys in 1st and 3rd.

Personally, I have no problem with "homer" announcers. I want to hear someone who wants the Sox to win. That's why I don't listen to the other team's feed when I'm listening to the Sox games on the internet, and why I enjoy watching TBS when the Cubs play the Braves.

But there's a difference in wanting your team to win, and blindly rooting for your team. As I've heard someone say, a fan sees both teams on the field, a homer only sees one.
