Saw that. good to see Owens get going too. Hopefully McDougal was "working on some stuff"

Nice to see Owens going 2 for 4 as well. I know it is just Cactus League but it is never too early to play winning baseball. I remember the 2000 Sox had a monster Cactus League record and were able to carry it over into April and May and they never stopped winning until September. If we are to compete in this division, a fast start is going to be necessary so it's good to see our boys winning some games even though they don't count.

Now that he's done it, the surprise value is lost.

I know Ozzie wants a more aggressive running team in 2008, but why was Thome running?

Whenever I see him slide, I reach for my own creaky back!!!!

I forget which year it was (2006?), but in the season opener, Paulie had a SB, meaning for a brief time, he held the ML lead in SB. :D:

Edit: It was '04.

Cowley reports that JT went into second standing up. Fear not.

He's so fast, he doesn't even need to slide!

I didn't see the game. Was it a legitimate steal or something weird like a hit and run with a wild pitch?

That's it, Thome's batting leadoff this season.
