"We're happy to announce that we've figured out a way to accommodate 25,000 more fans for the exhibition game on March 29," McCourt said. "In fact, some fans will get to watch the game right on the field itself. These additional tickets will be available this Saturday, when single-game tickets for the regular season go on sale."

This is good news for a lot of fans who were unable to purchase tickets for the game at the end of January, and if all of the seats and standing-room sections are filled, the game will feature an attendance of more than 115,000 fans.

In 1958 it was 251 feet down the left field line........

In 2008 it will be 200 The screen will be 62 feet high :?:

200 feet down the left field line is weak no matter how high the fence. It will be cool to see how they set up the fans on the field. Maybe like the lawn areas at many of the spring training stadiums down here.

This has all the makings of becoming the Woodstock of Baseball.

I don't know if ESPN is going to pick it up but NESN and Prime Ticket will show it. NESN has no idea where the cameras will be as the Dodgers have yet to send the final plans.

I should be in fine shape dealing with this after Japan. BTW Sony will be having us test the next generation of HD cameras while in Tokyo which they claim are three times clearer than what is available now.

Damn, those 25K () extra tickets are definitely going to push this game over the old record - Game 5 of the 1959 World Series, also at the Coliseum.

They hold exhibition soccer games. US vs other countries. USC women's soccer team had an exhibition game vs Mexico within the last two weeks.

And it's the Home Depot Center.

In the standings it doesnt count. In dollars, it counts. Besides, the previous record was set during a Dodgers/Yankees game exhibition game.

!!!! That would be an awesome step forward in the move toward 1080P sports broadcasts?

From that picture, it looks even shorter. If the third baseman is playing deep, I'm not sure a leftfielder is even needed. I'm sure Manny would be willing to stay home.

Game 5 record should stand forever; largest attendance for a WS game. By the way we won that game in typical 59 fashion 1-0. Scored the run on a double play. Rivera made a great game saving catch in the 8th or 9th.

This just looks like it could be a softball game. Why not break out the Clincher?

Seriously, why not re-align the field? Make LF the deep end... would that be logical? Just drag home from the right side of that pic and put into left. Wouldn't that work better?

The record about to be broken for most fans is actually 93,103 for Roy Campanella day. It was an exhibition game, played in the Coliseum, against the Yankees. The most attended game of the 1959 World Series had a crowd of 92,706; a World Series record is always going to be held in higher regard than that of an exhibition game.

Well, it might work better, but the point is to duplicate (as best as they can) what it was. So, it would be silly to change that.

Makes sense... I guess I missed where the Dodgers were trying to duplicate the current high-attendance game. Thanks!
