In an interview with a New York newspaper, Shawn Green said he was retiring from baseball after receiving no offers close enough to his home in California.

Simple question, does he belong in the hall?

2006 hits, 1134 runs, 445 doubles, 1071 rbi, 328 home runs, .282 career ba

Hell no

He is one of my steroids suspects as well.

Is this a serious question?

He did help my fantasy team out one year, and then killed it the next. Benny Agbayani did the same though, neither belongs in the Hall.

The 'Yes' was a sarcastic vote, right? Does anyone really believe Shawn Green is a HOF'er? :?:

We don't need to answer this question, but he did obviously have some good years.

Did he ever do anything spectacular besides that 4 home run game?

Did he ever do anything spectacular besides that 4 home run game?

Not really. One abnormally great season in Toronto, then another one in Los Angeles.

Looks like we might have a new record for most lopsided poll in WSI history. I don't know for sure, but 65-1 is way past an ass kicking any way you slice it...

I was going to suggest he belongs in this one (http://www.jewishsports.org/jewishsports/inductees.asp) but he's already there!

Definitely a juice suspect. Didn't most of his HR come in salary drive years?

Wait. Isn't Green's career what a non-juicer looks like? No power early when he's physically immature, power in the middle of his career, then rapidly declining skills in his mid to late thirties. It's the guys like Luis Gonzalez who get better after age 35 that make me suspicious.

A pretty good career. Be proud of what you've accomplished.

won't even stay on the ballot after his first year. Had a good career, seems like a pretty decent guy (I respect anyone who sits out for the high holidays) but barely even makes the Hall of Good, more like OK.
