Brewers manager Ned Yost is considering hitting Jason Kendall ninth and moving Ryan Braun and Prince Fielder up into the second and third spots, respectively.

That could work out pretty well. Getting a team's best players additional at-bats is almost always a good idea, and Yost thinks Braun and Fielder would still have plenty of chances to drive in runs with the supposed second leadoff man at the bottom of the order. J.J. Hardy is the probable choice to bat second right now, so if this plan comes to fruitition, his value would take a hit. No. 1 hitter Rickie Weeks would benefit a bit.

I'd fire Yost immediately if he batted Kendall 9th and his pitcher 8th....Must be rotoworld forgetting the pitcher.

This only really matters during the first time around the batting order.

Did you read the source link?

But one of the most interesting of possible orders would have Ryan Braun batting second, a pitcher batting eighth and catcher Jason Kendall batting ninth. This idea isn't set yet, and it may not ever be used. It is just one of a flurry of ideas whizzing around inside the skipper's head. St. Louis Cardinals manager Tony La Russa has done this some during the last few seasons.

They did this for a while in Florida, but that was more because Dontrelle Willis was on a hot streak with the stick.

The way Kendall has declined, it's probably for the best. He better step up this year. I like the Brewers chances, but their catching situation is not so good.
