Whitesox.com is turning the story as if KW and Ozzie are a bit ticked of that he isn't in camp yet. Unless there's more to it?

There's always the one guy who this happens to. Carlos Lee and a certain outfielder currently on the Tigers roster both had this happen to them when they were on the Sox, I think (and in different years).

Why am I not surprised.

I have to agree with Kenny and Ozzie on this one. You know when you have to report, why do you wait until the last minute to get your visa, or apply for it or whatever. I see it every year. Maybe it has to do with I'm one that always likes to show up early, so that I know I won't be late. I think at this point, there isn't an excuse for not being in camp on time because of a visa.

EXACTLY...you can bet your sweet butt that if I was trying to play my way onto a MLB roster, I would be EARLY...

There is NO excuse for this crap...

Could you imagine if Brian Anderson required a visa and this happened to him. People around here would petition for the moratorium of the death penalty end.

If the Visa situation is a matter of preparing to get it ahead of time, then it is on Richar, and I can understand KW and Ozzie for being upset. Iguchi was traded to make room for him, and to give him a chance to play. I have to admit, I absolutely hate it when people are late when it comes to showing up at something very important. Hopefully, it's just a mistake, but I don't like the attitude that often is the foundation for someone being late, just casually strolling in whenever . . .

I do not think that this helps him at all when it comes to the battle for second base. Ozuna is already there and is healthy, don't really know how Uribe looks now or if Ramirez is good to go but I still think that this might possibly put him behind Ozuna and Ramirez right now unless he really works his butt off during camp.

Bull****. This will be forgotten unless it becomes a "tie goes to the runner" situation. If Richar outperfroms his competition, he will be awarded the job, barring the Sox brining in an actual good player to play 2B.

I was just saying that right now this does not help out Richar at all. From what Ozzie and KW said in their interview about this situation, they do not seem to pleased about what is happening with Richar and his Visa. I do agree that this will probably be forgotten about unless Richar does not look good in camp, or Uribe, Ozuna, or Ramirez really step up and show that they deserve this position more so than Richar.

I really don't see this being an issue when it's all said and done.

If Richar has a good spring, he'll be starting on opening day.

I don't know, We all know what happens to rookies who end up in Ozzie's dog house. Its a long, hard road to get out of.

Agreed. They're just using him as an example of not taking **** this spring training. Once the games start next week, it'll be forgotten.

I don't even think he's in Ozzie's 'dog house.' Ozzie actually says that he had the same problems during his career...so he is somewhat understanding.

It happens every year to somebody, and no one has ended up in his 'dog house.' This will not be any different.

They get an entire season to live up to expectations, disappoint tremendously, and finally get replaced by a crusty, er, grindy veteran?

134 games in 2006 doesn't cut it?

No, because Ozzie didn't believe in BA, and much like Tinkerbell if you don't believe in him he is doomed.

I'll agree that Anderson should have seen significant action in (at least) early 2007, but I still feel like the "Ozzie hates Anderson" thing has been blown way out of proportion.

Of course, this topic has been discussed ad nauseum, so I digress.

Hopefully everything with KW, Ozzie, and Richar is kosher and we can look forward to seeing Danny have a breakout season.

Don't you remember the **** he got for leaving winter ball sick, yet Owens gets a free pass for just quitting?

Owens didn't get a free pass. I seem to recall the Sox being pretty pissed at him for doing that and they had to talk with him at spring training about it that year.

I wasn't talking about the management's POV, I was talking about the average WSIer.

The decision sure worked out well....72 wins, the game's worst offense, and a year devoted to developing Erstad, Torrero and Gonzalez.

WSI just makes me wish Anderson would be traded tomorrow.

Who will you guys undeservedly support after that? Wasserman? Actually, I'll suggest Nick Masset, the pitching equivalent of Anderson results-wise.

After the Sox dump Anderson for the "25 year old A-baller" special; what will out minor league OF depth be?

Aren't these visa problems an example of the creaky wheels of bueracracy in (slow) motion?
