This link (http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news?slug=jp-freeagentrankings111207&prov=yhoo&type=lgns) was posted at the beginning of free agent season, and figured others would be interested in taking another look (as I did today).

It is interesting to see the names of the un-signed. I wonder how many of the Lofton/Alomar/Cirillo/Piazza-types will retire?

I am also surprised that Graffanino hasn't found a minor league contract somewhere - must be holding out for a bench spot.

Corey Patterson still hasn't signed anywhere? Does he still actually think he's going to get multi years and money?

Didn't Graffy have surgey recently?

I love the comment about $amMe.

There's some starting pitchers still on the list I wish the Sox could get to agree to a short, incentive type deal.

LipMe too. I'm sure Freddy's on Ozzie's speed dial. I hope he wears the Sox pinstripes again.

Yeah, I, too, was wondering where Freddy Garcia would end up.

I heard Freddy can't 90. Didn't he run into a tractor on the field?

Maybe we'll wind up with Freddy and Bartolo?? That would be great, considering two of our current starters are likely to completely flop.

Do you ever get tired of this?

Ozzie was quoted saying he didn't think Garcia would pitch in 2008. I think that means there is probably a good chance the Sox sign him cheap for 2009.

Or he's driving the price down for 2008 since he has an inside source. Should that be teal?

Given Freddy's injury and the fact that he's not expected back until mid season at the earliest, I wasn't considering him in the mix.

Josh Fogg or even Kyle Lohse wouldn't be bad bottom of the rotation innings eaters.

I like Danks/Floyd/Broadway's upside much more.

This team prolly needs a few breaks to make the playoffs this year, why not try to catch lightning in a bottle with one of the kids?

I agree, but if we can get someone on the cheap I would feel a lot better. Odds are only one of Danks/Floyd/Broadway will step it up.

I can't believe Royce "The Choice" Clayton remains unsigned! Seriously, how long before he and his amazing agent swindle another MLB GM looking to "shore up" the infield defense?

Who is the lesser of two evils, Clayton or Uribe?

Me too. I'm sure Freddy's on Ozzie's speed dial. I hope he wears the Sox pinstripes again.

Per Ozzie's comments at Sox Fest, it doesn't appear that Freddy will pitch in 2008.

Uribe. At least there's SOME offensive upside.

Don't discount Royce's lack of range for a second.

Freddy is only 32? I would give him a 1 year $2.5 million deal with incentives.

Are all 2.5 million in incentives? Ozzie said himself he doesn't expect him to pitch this year AT ALL.

Why have we not given Kenny Lofton or Shannon Stewart a call yet? I know that they are older, but both proved last season that they still can play, plus it helps us at the top of the order. I would love Lofton in center and Swisher in left.
