It is basically saying that given the stats, the move to a hitter's park, his age, and the minimal amount that we are paying him in comparison to Rowand, Fukodome, and Hunter, that the Sox may have gotten a better deal.

That is not the article that I was referring to but it is the basic gist of it, thanks.

Based on the information above, is this really new-thread worthy? I could have told you all of this 15 minutes after the trade was made....

I think that's true, although he was certainly more expensive in players lost. One question is how did the Sox spend the money saved on Hunter (or how will they spend it?).

They're not going to spend it just to say they spent it. But, some of it was used for Ramirez, Dotel, taking on Swisher's payroll (since we only gave up minor leaguers for him), and hopefully some of it will go to a possible O.Cabrera extension if he wants to stay here.

That actually was a pretty decent article on Swisher. Doesn't say much we don't already know but definitely goes along with how good of a guy we hear he is.

There are a lot of ways to spend it.
I was thinking along the lines of investing more in player scouting and development, which are short changed right now.
