Aug 22.

But overall, that's one of the worst promotional schedules i've ever seen. Hispanic Business Night? Latin College Night? I'd have to imagine that R.S.V.P'ing is required....

As much as I like the scripted "C" cap, I'm sure it's going to be the one that went went with the jersey that is still so very popular.

They sure have been cheap with the bobbleheads, especially after the Esteban Loaiza bobblehead day, but that happens to everybody. I think maybe a Buehrle, an AJ, or a Jenks bobblehead would be appropriate.

I'm glad they're doing Mother/Son day again this year, but sorry to see that it'll be on a weeknight. That'll be tough to get downtown after work and come back late on a school night.

Oh well, I suppose they're trying to time it with Mother's Day - though I had no problem with it being in Sept. last year.

How about an Alumni Night(s)?

Bring back some of the guys from the past, introduce them on the field, have one of them (perhaps Burns, Dotson, or Bannister) throw out the first pitch and then have the former players on the concourse somewhere signing autographs, taking pictures and just generally talking baseball with the fans.

I know that idea isn't as cool as Mullet Night or some other fantastic promotions, but those of us who are there because we love the Sox in particular and baseball as a whole might enjoy it.

So since they're having an '80's cap day, do you guys think that they will wear their '80's throwback jerseys for that game?

I like how they consider the three Sox vs Cubs games a promotion because they are sponsored by some company.:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Before people start ragging too hard on this "tentative" promotional schedule, keep in mind that it's common for the Sox to add promotions during the course of the season. Most of the promotions have corporate sponsors who underwrite the lion's share of the give away/event. I'm sure this "tentative" schedule will be meatier once they line up more sponsors.

My rep emailed me the promotional list this afternoon, and they do have a few open dates toward the back end of the season that could have a few promotions attached to them. Thome bobblehead night was not until September last season, so maybe this season a bobblehead night will be placed in September again.

A singles night might be interesting, set up their own little section, have a pregame event to mingle around, almost be guaranteed to have the pool full of Sox fans could be a plus to people looking...

They used to have one. Guess it did not go over well since they are not doing it anymore.

I couldn't agree more. The last time they had "Rat Pack Night" was 2005, and I believe we all remember what happened that year

But, then again, I could also be biased, because I got to perform when they had it.

I'll call Brooks and see about re-instating it

Just noticed they added a Nick Swisher Bobblehead game Sunday Aug 10th vs Boston. Kind of silly they would add Bobbleheads to a game that will likely already sell out.

"Mullet Night vs KC"

Someone in the organization is a Cubs fan...in a strange co-inky-dink, the hawks convention will be the same weekend.

despite the new hawks prez being the old cubs prez, only the friday night conflicts with the sox game(shwo ends at 9, sox start at 7-11), as the convnetion ends at 5pm sat night(with sox projected start at 6:05) and sunday ends at 12noon(with the sox slated to start play at 1:05)
