The Dodgers truck left today

Wednesday's journey starts at Dodger Stadium, where players and fans can join together to give a send-off to the official Dodger Equipment Truck that will make its drive to Vero Beach, Florida

The Dodgers just hired the Boston PR guru so we know where that idea came from

Of course the Boston truck departure is front page news in New England
It leaves Saturday

The Dodgers have also put on sale tickets for the game with the Red Sox at the Coliseum. They have put 101,000 seats on sale as they try to break the all time baseball record

Can't believe those ticket prices if they are correct, $25 for a lower deck seats, and only $2 for far away upper deck seats. The view from up there might not be that great, but $2 is still a bargain.

The Dodgers really want to hit the 100,000 mark with that game. With the number of Red Sox fans in Southern California they just might do it.

It is going to be weird as the Red Sox will have already played 2 real games then kill time in LA for 3 before restarting in Oakland. The A's will wind up seeing Beckett twice right off the bat.

101,000 seats, and I'd venture to say maybe 20,000 at the most are comfortable seats for baseball. The rest of the seats will provide either completely odd sightlines or be located so far away from the infield that the players will look like ants.

They're just trying to paper the stadium. It's more of a publicity stunt to set the record than anything else. I'd guess they'll let people in for free at game time if they haven't sold out.

LF - 160
CF - 440
RF - 570

Easily the worst venue for baseball ever conceived, even worse than the Polo Grounds probably. But it would still be awesome to go to that one game there.

They used to put up the Screen Monster in left because the fence was so close to home plate.

I am strongly considering flying to LA to see one of those games. Boston fans in LA can't be any more annoying than Boston fans in Boston, and that short fence sounds absolutely amazing. A routine pop-up becomes a HR!

Wait, 160 feet down the left field line? Is there even a need for a left fielder then? That can't be right?

Looks like 250 to left from this... and only 300 to right. http://www.andrewclem.com/Baseball/MemorialColiseum.html

It was 251 from 1958-61

I suspect it will be close to that today.....I don't know how much the Olympics renovations in 1984 changed things.

THANK GOD!!!!! :supernana::supernana::supernana:

This has been a horribly long off season. Between the steroids and the Patriots its just been abysmal. The only brigh spot of the off season has been the Blackhawks (when was the last time you could say that!?!) and that didn't last long either

Looking at it on the whole, I am excited by the changes that KW has made to the lineup. I am even getting comfortable with the prospect of seeing Orlando Cabrera as our lead off hitter.

If KW could manage to swing a deal that sent one of our third basemen away for a quality #3 or #4 starter, I would be down right giddy!:)
