Does anyone know Fields' jersey number? whitesox.com and espn.com both have it listed as 22. He wore 22 with he Knights and since Pods is gone, the number is available.

I ordered an authentic #22 Fields jersey (I know). Anyway, it came in the mail today, but as a #27 Fields jersey.

What the heck??

First, where did you order it from?

Second, I would send it back, if you can, and specify exactly which player you want, and what number you would like.

Field's number last year was 27. Since the '08 season has not yet started, mlb may not have the latest number assignments for players.

I've also noticed a few other changes in numbers as well.

Scott Linebrink origionally 48 now listed as 71
Carlos Quentin origionally 17 now listed as 20

Why not just wait a couple of weeks and see what he's wearing in ST so that you know his number for sure...

I order from distantreplays.com, super quick turnaround. Also, they don't customize the jerseys themselves, they come directly from the manufacturer. The quality is top notch.

Anyway, I need to know if his number is 22 or 27...

Maybe I could wait a few weeks until spring training...

I probably will. The jerseys were on sale at a price i couldn't pass up so I had to order it (I actually ordered 4 jerseys).

Spring Training numbers can change, but that usually applies to rookies who actually make the 25 man roster.

#22 has a proud history. Ed Farmer, Jose Valentin, etc.

Just use a little black tape to turn that "27" into a "22"!

I dunno, they were selling Fields' 27 jersey's at SoxFest for cheap, but they had Swisher and Konerko jersey's for cheap as well.

Skobabe I know asked him about his jersey number at SoxFest and I think he said he didn't know about it. But I'd go with the offical stuff.

That site you ordered it from is expensive.

I'll second that.....triple threat still looks to be the best deal in town.

I'm kicking around the notion of a grey road Swisher myself.

If I still sat in front of you, you would have been able to see my newest addition to the jersey family.

There hasn't even been a game this year and I already miss 158. Cue the Boys To Men: It's So Hard to Say Goodbye.

Fields was #22 in the minors. I have a couple of his minor league game used items that say #22 on them. It makes sense he goes with that number this year. I heard these rumblings at Soxfest as well. Though, he was signing his autographs as #27. We'll see.

I just took a quick look at that site and everything looked very expensive, what kind of sale did they have.

The authentic customized jerseys were around $130-$150, depending on whether it was a home, away or alternate jersey. That's the lowest I've ever come across...

I spoke to Josh briiefly at the Auto Show earlier tonight and he said his number has been changed to 22. He said it was his number in the minors.

Ah well it was a good deal when you found it, because everything now looked to be 250 or so
