View Full Version : My question for all of you who think we should trade for Coco Crisp?

Coco's career averages: .280 avg., .329 OBP, 73% SB%
Coco's career highs: .300avg. (2005), .345 OBP (2005), 28 SB (2007)

Jerry Owen's numbers from last year: .267 avg., .324 OBP, 32 SB (in 93 gms.), 80 SB%

Two part question:
What would we have to get up to get Crisp?
How is it worth it?

I honestly think Owens could grow to be a good leadoff hitter, if his avg was just a bit higher i think everyone would feel good about our situation...remember all of our guys had poor years last year maybe Owens has a good year ahead of him

I've always said no to Coco. Besides his name, he's nothing spectacular. Just always saw him as overrated, especially because BSPN builds him up nicely.

So, let me get this straight. Crisp's career average OBP percentage is only 5 points higher than Owens last year, including his bad start in his first callup, and Owens stole more bases last year in half a season than Crisp has in one season in his entire career and you want to spend more resources to get Crisp?

It seems to me the Sox already have him.

who's still talking about Coco Crips?

Haven't heard that rumor in months.

I imagine we should be talking "Coco Crisps" considering that the Red Sox didn't land Johan. He Gone from beantown.

I too agree, we don't need him. I'd rather see more of Quentin if Swisher can play center and if he can't...... I'd personally rather Anderson.

No, Crisp is a more expensive version of Owens.

I don't want Crisp. I think I covered that in the thread title and how I phrased my last question. As a matter of fact, I deleted "in the sam hell" from my last question.

I'd take him over Owens...he's had a great history at the Cell.

I believe the Coco Crisp era on the south side ended the day Nick Swisher was acquired.

Trading for another outfielder doesn't make sense unless we trade Dye or Konerko.

Uribe and the 2 pitchers they gave us today. That would be worth it. But only if we can flip him somewhere else for something we need - because we already have Coco Owens.
