Didn't see this posted yet. Probably got lost in the Swisher madness. This could be a good move for the Cards. They finally did something positive in St Louis.

Matt Clement is one of the nicest guys in baseball. When I was an usher for the Cubs I used to sit by the bullpen before the gates would open and watch the pitchers warm up and do a crossword (I did the same thing with the Sox, but not by the bullpen, by the dugout), Matt Clement would frequently come over and talk to me, he once helped out on the crossword I was working on, and when my girlfriend called me he asked who it was and then said Hello to her. Very nice guy. I wish him the best...but he hasn't been the same since he got drilled in the head in Tampa...and is painfully slow on the mound.

St Louis sports radio is on fire this morning with everyone blasting this move. They are in desperate need of a 1 and 2 starter and this is how they patch it. 30+ years old, .500 pitcher coming off major shoulder surgery. But the Cards are probably going to be sold in a couple years, so now is the time to go lean and make the books look good at the fans expense.

I thought he was dead when he was hit in Tampa

He never recovered from that and then came his fine performance in the 2005 ALDS
