What a horrible story. Leyritz will pay the price for this, but unfortunately it doesn't bring back the innocent victim caused by a bad choice. My thoughts go out to that girl's family, especially since it happened during the holidays.

It's bad on all ends - the woman's family, and Leyritz will have to live with this burden as well. A look at that video clearly shows that he realizes what happened. None of us would want to live with that.

This is terrible. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family of the victim in this.:(:

Of course, as seemingly is always the case in stories like this, the victim is someone with small children at home who was only out on the roads in the middle of the night because she had to be, trying to make ends meet as a third-shift waitress.

Absolutely sad and troubling story. Leyritz has more money than most of us will see in our lifetime, and he couldn't call a cab or get a driver? Awful.

Absolutely inexcusable.

Part of the reason I never lived in the burbs was if I was going to have a few pops I could always get a cab.

It gets worse for him

January 2, 2008 -- Ex-Yankee home-run hero Jim Leyritz was driving with a suspended license when he allegedly got drunk and smashed into a car driven by a mother of two, killing her, motor vehicle records reveal.
Leyritz, 44, had his Florida driver's license suspended by New York authorities on Nov. 23, according to a New York Department of Motor Vehicles database.
