Maybe we could swing Uribe for either Nick Johnson or Dmitri Young. Washington is looking to move one of them and they have Christian Guzman :puke: starting at SS.

NOTE: receiving anything that might be considered "legit" was not an option in return for Juan Uribe.

I'd take something as useless as......Juan Uribe.

Of course, I'd want a ready made starting pitcher...ain't gonna happen.

Usually, I don't want Sox players to read our postings about their performance, but I do wish Juan Uribe would catch a glimpse of our 'respect' for his play...it might get him off his fat ass next year.

Now that I think about it, here is what I would accept for Uribe in a trade:
Johan Santana
Josh Beckett
Alex Rodriquez
Derek Jeter
Magglio Ordonez

In a heartbeat.

Perhaps we need a thread asking what we think the Sox would be offered for Uribe and what would be acceptable.

I'm still hoping he shoots some one in his yard again, we still have about 2 months before ST opens... I figure that Kenny would Probably fund the Prosecution... That is our only hope!

I heard from a "reliable source" that Juanie isgoing to be a new man in '08 with a new plan of attack at the plate, as KW bought him a warehouse full of those fat red plastic whiffle bats for Christmas. This way, when Uribe closes his eyes and swings at EVERY pitch like he is Babe Ruth, the constant foul balls from the destruction of each whiffle bat will run up the opposing starter's pitch count and force the manager to use up his bullpen early.

Kenny already got that with the Tad Iguchi trade last season.

Or a Mount Prospect police car - they practically give those away.

Cop engine, cop shocks, cop suspension....need to get the lighter fixed though.

If they would pay his entire salary and we got a AA-level prospect, I would be ecstatic. If we found someone to pay his entire salary and gave us a player, even if he was damaged goods, I'd still be happy because we'd have $5 million to use elsewhere. Ultimately, I wouldn't mind trading him for an A-level OF.

I won't pretend it tastes as good, I only drink it because I'm restricted by high BP. Usually I add a few dashes of Worcestershire & Tabasco to enhance the flavor and keep the sodium lower than the full strength version. Maybe I should add those garnishments to my trade demands!

Saw a nice pair of shoes online. If the team we're doing business with buys those shoes for me ($50), they can have Juan Uribe for $4 million per year. If they'll add a slurpee, they can have Sisco too.

Now that he is a $5 million benchwarmer, Kenny Williams will be lucky to get a bag of baseballs for him.

The man learned NOTHING from the Royce Clayton debacle.

It's doubtful that we'd get anything of value at all, even baseballs or beverages. In order to dump that contract we'll have to take on something bad in return, so I propose this trade:

Uribe to the Federal Government for up to 6 barrels of radioactive waste. The waste would be held by the Sox organization through the end of the '08 season when Juan's contract runs out, and it should be shipped to Charlotte tagged Attention: Brian Anderson.

soxfanreggie

Can we store that radioactive waste in Northern Chicago. Perhaps at the corner of Clark and Addison. Isn't that place already a toxic waste dump?
