The Philadelphia Phillies (http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/clubhouse?team=phi) and free agent outfielder Geoff Jenkins (http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/profile?statsId=5948) agreed on a two-year deal believed to be worth about $13 million.

"He can play right or left field and will give Charlie lineup options on an everyday basis," general manager Pat Gillick said, referring to manager Charlie Manuel.

It's a fine deal, except that I keep hearing he's going to be a somewhat platoon player.

I wouldn't want Jenkins anywhere near this team after us losing out on our first 5 or 6 options already

Seriously? You Seriously think Geoff Jenkins is the answer? I would love to hear the explanation as to how Jenkins is going to make this team better for this season. I have lost a little support in Kenny this off-season, particularly with his comments not matching his results, but its just ignorant to blame him after any free agent is picked up by another team or a team makes a trade that doesnt include the White Sox.

He should be negotiating for Jayson Werth.
