Willie Harris was non-tendered tonight. He might be a good bench/speed option as well as Richar insurance.

Interesting, I remember he was having a great year last year, and he must of faded with the Braves, as I heard nothing of him after that big game he had (was it 5-5?). I just checked his numbers last week, and was surprised he went all the way down to .270, wasn't he well over .300 for a while?

Since, he was looking okay early, and is now released, I have to question the clubhouse/attitude factor

I wouldn't mind as a last man off the bench type of option.

I also see that Kiko Calero was non tendered. I think that he or Matt Wise, or both, would be decent semi-cheap options for our pen as well.

I wouldn't disagree with it. Plus it would be a person from the 2005 team so the people that are always upset that we broke up that team might be a little happy.

The 2 years he had more than 300 at bats he had an OBP over .340 and he still has some speed.

I would love to see Harris come back. I hated the fact we got rid of him.

Harris is better than he was in '05. He and Richar could battle it out for second base in ST. Of course, if he's even invited, bafia will go crazy.

I still remember the 2004 SI baseball preview that said Willie's fortunes as a leadoff hitter would be the key to the Sox winning the AL Central: WILLIE OR WON'T HE?

Of course, they were wrong (thank you Maggs and Frank) but I thought it was strange at the time that a mainstream press outlet put so much emphasis on the top of the Sox' order.

And he has experience in center field!
