In all seriousness, if it takes 5 mil for him to come here, I'd do it. On the other hand, if I were him, I'd wanna get the hell out of this city.

I mean how he won 18 games for them in the 1 season .. he still has alot of talent and if he is healthy he is alot better than Floyd

Haha, I think it's funny that in the same thread we have both serious and teal pleas for the Sox to pick him up. As for me, I really don't think he's worth our trouble. He's not that great of a team player, from what I have heard, and his injury risk is way too high. If we could get him for a year at $1 million or less like we did with Loaiza in '03 (not sure of the numbers there, but I'm sure it was less than $1 mil since he was a non-roster invitee), then I would say fine, but he's going to be asking for at least $5 million, and the risk isn't worth that.

the problem is he's not healthy, and I don't think he will be for a long time.

I'd be happy if the Sox took him for under $1 mil. I don't like the guy, but WHEN he could pitch, he had some stuff. Calculated risk.

I would consider it, even at 5 million.

It is 2007. $5 million is chump change in today's baseball market. Toby Hall is making almost $2 million to be a backup catcher and Juan Uribe is making $4.5 million to be a backup middle infielder. Let's get with the program.

I'll just wait and see the Mitchell report. I have a feeling that those poor job pitchers that Dusty ruined might have a thing in common when all is said and done.

The Sox are desperate for starting pitching. They should give him an incentive laden deal and make him the fourth starter.

The Twins were suckers for drafting Joe Mauer before Prior.

Unlike Kerry Wood, who I always thought was up front and honest with the media, I felt Prior was arrogant and elusive when asked tough questions.

I know the Yankees were interested in him earlier in his career so maybe they will take a shot at a rehab assignment.

With that said, watch the SOX sign him....:o:

Pretty much every team would take a chance on Prior for the right price...which drives up his price.

I'd be fine with the Sox signing him. He has to have something left in the tank. Take him the Kerry Wood route and make him a reliever. He can't be any worse than the zombies we had out there last year.

That being said, there's no way he stays in Chicago.

Prior has always come across to me like a complete tool. Not interested.

ding! He's still young enough to entice a GM or two to throw money at him. If I'm Prior, I get out of Chicago, head to California (with an achin' in my heart) and pray I stay healthy

There is no risk in signing Prior.

He can't pass the physical.

Still, stay away from him, Kenny.

Williams should publicly target him so another team can sign him and alleviate any worries that he will actually end up on the Sox.

That's nuts. He won't pitch in the first half of the season and he will be a FA when it is over.

I wouldn't touch him with a 10 foot pole. The Cubs were dead right to release him instead of pay him the 3mm he'd have gotten in arbitration. We'd be foolish to even consider playing that game.

I have always felt between Dusty and Rothschild, Prior didn't have a snowball's chance in hell staying healthy. Give him to Herm and Coop, and I could see a setup man come out of that.

I'm hoping the Cards pick him up for like 3-5 mil a year and he just goes Cy Young on the Cubs for 4 straight seasons.
