Bill Madden of the NY Daily News is just furious that Miller only received 3 of 12 votes from the HoF veterans committee.

In short, the members put politics right back into this election process. Otherwise, on what criteria does one judge an executive? Impact and influence on the game? I would submit that the three people in the history of baseball who have had the most impact and influence on the game were Babe Ruth, Jackie Robinson and Marvin Miller and I would challenge any member of that committee to name anyone who had more.

Tom Seaver says not only the players should thank Miller, but the owners as well.

It's sad if people allowed their personal feelings to override the historical importance, the magnitude and the impact on the game of Marvin," Seaver said by phone from Calistoga, Calif. "The irony is he ended up making millions for the owners because he made them push the envelope, revise their business plan and take the game to a different level. How many years did the players have chains on them? A hundred? How can you underestimate what Marvin did?"

One voter was former Red Sox CEO John Harrington who would have trouble telling you what number Ted Williams wore. What a joke.

Good! This guy belongs in the LABOR Hall of Fame, and he can take guys like Fehr and Upshaw(who is in the PFHOF)in too.
If people want to hear it or not,Marvin Miller like Fehr do not give a rats %$# about Baseball or the Fans. They are only there to line their clients pockets. Fine! It's because of this 'Country Club' that USES labor laws and CALLS itself a Union, that the true, regular Fan no longer matters to owners. All they care about are Suite and Club level season ticket holders, and their Rights Holders. And it spread into the NFL,NBA,NHL and even to some College venues. The Owners could care less any more about legit Fans who go to about 5-10 games a year, but don't spend like high rollers! Why? To allow lousy .185 batters or pitchers with 6.95 ERA's to earn 2 Million bucks a season!
If they ever put Miller,Fehr and the other MLBPA 'goons' in the Baseball Hall,I shall cease to recognize it's existence. That would be a complete joke.
Up theirs!!!
MARVIN MILLER should NEVER be inducted into the Baseball HOF!

Get a clue. It's YOU as a fan who allows for the below Mendoza Line hitters to get 2 mill. YOU pay for the high ticket prices. YOU, depending on what city you live in, paid for the new stadium, so that owners can charge for the boxes and club seats. YOU buy the products that are advertised on TV,radio, internet. YOU buy team logo items. It's YOU who allows for all this.

Marvin Miller should be in the HOF. He did a lot for players. But nobody is holding a gun to the owner's head to pay these salaries.

What exactly did Bowie Kuhn do to get in the HOF? If he's in then Miller should be in. Miller impacted the game much more than Kuhn ever did.

If the players made $50,000 a year the ticket prices and concessions, parking, merchandize, etc would all cost the same as they do today. Those prices are driven by what revenue maximization, not by fairness or to cover cost. It's whatever amount they determine will bring in the most without stopping demand.

Want proof? How much does a ticket to the BCS National Championship or NCAA Basketball Final Four cost? HOw much is beer? Those players don't get paid.

This is why I dislike sportwriters. All they do is regurgitate cliches and spit out stereotypes. What just because a guy can afford suites, he isn't a real fan? Logic courses should be a required course for journalism majors.
