Per rotoworld:

Free agent Kip Wells is marketing himself as a setup man, according to ESPN's Jerry Crasnick.

An interesting development. Wells still has a pretty good arm and might be useful while airing it out one inning at a time. Of course, we also thought Joel Pineiro would fare pretty well after making the switch.

I'd take him if he came cheap. But this is posted more because he's an ex-Sox player and I find this interesting than it is because I actually want him in a Sox uniform.

"Cheap"

Seriously, how many threads in here start with "I'll take him if he's cheap, or if the price is right?"

"Low risk, high reward"
"Maybe Coop will fix him"
"He plays the game hard"
"Everyone else on the market is costing too much"

And then when we go out and sign Linebrink for 4yrs/19mil the best reliever available on the market:

"Too many years for a reliever"
"We overpaid"
"That's ridiculous for Linebrink. At least it's not my money."
"If true, a monumental waste of money."

As a middle reliever who has the potential to eat a lot of innings, he could be a good pick-up for a team.
