1.2 IP, 4 K's, a sign of things to come? A lefty in the pen who can get people out? Hey, the sox beat the tribe, I can be a bit overly optimistic for 24 hours right?

He has showed some great stuff in his outings but gives up that one bad pitch that kills him. Today he didn't give up bad pitches and looked like the pitcher we expected when we traded for him. Great job today Damaso!

not to put too much of a damper of marte but this is how he pitched with the pirates last year...he was great in non pressure situations when he started off an inning..but he was horrible in close games...

his over all era was just under 5....but in late inning pressure situations, RISP, RISP w 2outs,and in extra innings his era was over 9 in all those catagories...when he started off an inning in a non pressure situation his era was i think 0.45

the stats are over at cbs sportsline if anyone wants to check them but so far thats exactly how he has pitched for us....when the pressure was on he sucked...when we are up or down big he looks like a superstar...hopefully he can change this trend

he also pitched much better to righties than lefties..righties hit like .220 off him and lefties hit close to .300.....so he doesnt seem to be the best guy for the lefty specialist role
