Kind of ironic the last has a sponsor called Scott Petersen.

Strange to see Jerry Reisendorf in a commercial...Robin looked awfully tiny too.

Haha, I've never seen that last one. "Good guys wear shorts."

Those promos got me looking through other Sox videos on youtube and I came across a walk-off homer from Dave Gallagher. Is that Rooney on the call?

Darn right that's Rooney! Here's another one, from Dave Gallagher, I think he may be the guy posting these!

Rooney sounded great even back then as the tv announcer. How about the Blue Jay leftfielder (George Bell?) signing an autograph for someone in the Picnic Area after the walkoff? Sort of breaking an unwritten rule there.

I enjoyed those very much. Thanks for the links to the videos. The one with Ditka was pretty neat.

I don't really think George Bell ever gave much of a thought about rules. Unwritten or written.

What is "ironic" about this?
Please don't respond with a definition of the guy on death row.

Oh, that was such an AWFUL jingle. "Soxfest, baseball's best!" Good grief, that was soooo laaammme. I remember being razzed by all my Cub fan friends in high school for that putrid jingle.
Speaking of Sox promo ads, I didn't find it on YouTube, but does anyone remember a White Sox WGN-TV ad from 1990 featuring musician Dr. John (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dr._John)?

Not as bad as Chubby Checker singing "Let's Do It Again" in 1984. That was
truly gag-inducing, especially that dork that used to leap out of his seat and
throw open a jacket to reveal his "Let's Do It Again!" t-shirt. Ugh. I'm about
to gag just on the memory alone.

...and speaking of bad Sox commercials from the early 80s, I try very hard to forget the one from 1982 that had the "Are You Ready? Yes, I'm Ready" song and then the voice-over guy says "Chicago, your White Sox are ready...." That was embarrassingly bad.
