Estrada wore out his welcome in Milwaukee. And is Mota still under suspension?

Love to get some clarification on that. I know for a fact he was suspended the first 60 or so games last year, I think he's good for this year though.

From the article on mlb :

Mota is 34 years old and coming off his ninth Major League season. He was 2-2 with a 5.76 ERA in 52 appearances with the Mets after returning from a 50-game suspension for performance-enhancing drugs.

"We looked at that and talked about it," Melvin said of Mota's suspension. "That was almost two years ago, and he served his suspension at the start of '07. That could be something we're all facing as time goes on and names come out. [Mota] was contrite and he served his suspension."

Mota served his suspension for the beginning of the 2007 season, then was brought back to the Mets roster. He was AWFUL, posting an ERA of close to 8 after his return. In fact, it got so bad that when he warmed up in the PEN the crowd started jeering on him. For some reason, Willie kept going to him, as Ozzie kept going to Bukvich. If the Brewers keep him on the roster, then wow. Just wow. I think he's done.

It seems the Mets just wanted Mota gone

The 31-year-old Estrada hit .278 with 10 homers and 54 RBIs last season, playing 120 games behind the plate for Milwaukee, but is not necessarily the answer to the Mets' starting catching vacancy. Estrada is arbitration eligible in January, and a team source indicated it's possible the Mets will simply allow him to become a free agent.
