Let's just say MLB Trade Rumors did a better job ranking the free agents. This guy has Kyle Lohse, Fukodome, and Jose Guillen all ranked higher than Hunter and Rowand, then goes on to say that Rowand isn't anything more than a fourth outfielder.

He did have some interesting things to say about Hunter, though. Maybe this is why you all love him? He's just like every other guy in our lineup.
At the plate, he's a fastball hitter with above-average power but poor patience and a weakness against average or better offspeed stuff.http://insider.espn.go.com/mlb/hotstove07/insider/columns/story?columnist=law_keith&id=3104954&action=upsell&appRedirect=http%3a%2f%2finsider.espn.go.com%2***b %2fhotstove07%2finsider%2fcolumns%2fstory%3fcolumn ist%3dlaw_keith%26id%3d3104954

BTW, it's a free preview for Insider.

Still, I'd rather have his glove than his bat.

He's been wrong about everything else he's claimed...why should we believe his analysis of Hunter?

Well, he's right that he has average power and doesn't walk much. And I know that he's a fastball hitter. I guess we'll have to ask a Twins fan whether he can hit good breaking stuff.

The walk to strikeout ratio for Hunter is awful (40:101), and that's typical of his career. He just had his best average since 2002. And if you think he wins the Gold Glove because he really is the best defender in the outfield, you need to lay off the Kool Aid. He's declining, as evidenced by his misjudged ball in the 2006 Div. Series.

I think that Keith Law at least cut through the hype on some of these players, and seems to have them ranked by how much interest they'll receive rather than how good they actually are. Of course, it's still just somebody's list.
