Hu?Yep (http://www.minorleaguebaseball.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20070924&content_id=304828&vkey=news_t400&fext=.jsp&sid=t400).
But I would anticipate that they would like to trade Furcal to get him up, so the Sox could aim for Furcal*.

I stand by my souces when I say KW and Ned Colletti will first discuss exchanging big salaries that aren't working out right now (Contreras for Furcal).... if nothing there, things could expand into a blockbuster...

Crede and Garland for Kemp, Furcal and Billingsley OR Broxton...

You'd think we either are including Danks, DLS, Broadway, etc... if the dodgers are on the line to do this, screw doing Contreras for Furcal straight up, go for this trade!

If there is a way for us to land Kemp and/or Billingsly with Furcal it needs to be done!!! NOW!

Colletti said his opinion of the market for starting pitchers hasn't changed since late August, when he cited the weak free-agent crop as one of the reasons for claiming Esteban Loaiza off waivers. Loaiza, who turns 36 on New Year's Eve, will make $7 million next season.

"I'd say that our best chance as of today would be via trade," Colletti said of the Dodgers' wish to add depth to the rotation. He added that he had no such deals in the works.

I know your post is in teal, but I want to take advantage of this opportunity to remind people that if you sign a free agent, you cannot trade him until something like June 1st next year. Keep this in mind as you sign all those FAs out there.....

The influence of fantasy baseball on armchair GM's.

It is a cross between fantasy baseball, and the "Moneyball" mentality that was created by the book, the Billy Beane craze, and the collections of websites and outlets that analyze baseball moves outside of context of the game.
