View Full Version : No More Royals, Please!

Whatever KW will do in the offseason, here's hoping that he lays off any potential deals with the Kansas City Royals. The math is simple, even if certain players they have may be tempting: More ex Royals mean more losing (See Sisco and McDougal).

Ehhh I wouldn't mind Mike Sweeney as a backup to Paulie and a righty DH to keep Thome healthy.

The thinking that because a team is losing, they have no good players is ridiculous.

While we're at it, no Rays players either! No one wants that Crawford character!

Mike Sweeney can't even stay healthy. Sounds like a good plan.

I'd take more than a few Royals in a heartbeat.

He wouldn't need to play 162 games though.

He's crap in a part time role.

I would take the ghost of Onix Concepion over what we have in centerfield right now.

IMO, KW's love of ex-Royals is the only reason why he's pursuing Johnny Damon.

Jermaine Dye is an ex-Royals. Maybe we should dump him.

He was a SS.

But there a quite a few KC players I wouldn't mind having.

There's nothing scarier in life than an upset Joaquin Andujar.

Anyone remember Buddy Biancalana's pursuit of Pete Rose...?

Those Cards had some wicked speed - Coleman (110 SB), McGee (56), Van Slyke (34), Herr (31), Ozzie Smith (31), etc. I think the only regular that didn't have a steal was Tom Nieto. They hit 87 homers and stole 314 bases.

By that logic, teams that want to win should stay away from deals with the Tampa Bay whatever-they're-calling-themselves-now.

Keith Hernandez had a lot of speed...in addition to the candy-dish of other narcotics he allegedley kept in his locker.

You want speed? Look at the numbers the A's and Pirates put up when Chuck Tanner was their manager from the period of 76 to say 79!

Emil Brown would be fantastic in LF for us.

Knock it off. He only hits against us, and he's as old as Pods is (I think).

ok, I looked it up. Brown is two years older than Pods.

Let's get George Brett!

KC's David DeJesus as the new Sox centerfielder would work for me.

LOL - Great.

I like Teahen from that team, and something about Bannister appeals to me. That's about it.

Ya I guess that Johnny Damon guy really sucked. Oh and how about that bum I think his name is Beltran. Who the hell needs former Royals.

Alex Gordon, Billy Butler, Mark Teahen, David DeJesus, Joakim Soria, Brian Bannister...Greinke even showed some promise this season. He looked great out of the pen.

There is definitely some talent on that team. Any of the above would be a welcome addition to the club. I'd take them all, to be quite honest.

I would take Teahen, Soria, De Los Santos, and Grudzielanek (only to rot on our bench so he wouldn't go 4 for 3 against us ).
