Eh, I've seen worse ideas. Okay, we'll go with that one.

Trade Broadway, Gio, Aardsma and Sweeney to FLA for Cabrera
Aardsma and Sweeney ain't getting it done. Broadway, Gio, and either DLS or Fields might get you in the conversation. Both of them might get him here.

Trade Contreras and Uribe to St. Louis for Ryan Franklin and 2 prospects
Never in a million billion years. A washed up 36 year old pitcher and a slow fat SS that cost $15 million combined next year are not exactly getting you anything of value on the open market.

Trade Crede and Macdougal to NYY for Damon
Already being shot down in NY as not going to happen.

Try to sign Garland to a Buerhle type deal
I totally agree with this.

Sign Miguel Cabrera to 6 year 115 million dollar deal
If we were to get him, I would want him locked up accordingly.

Im not going to rip it all

but

Garland is not worth Buehrle money, not close.

Garland is worth on a FAIR MARKET 8 mil a year

In the current Market 10.5 TOPS.

The guy is a 500 pitcher with a mid 4 era and a barely respectable WHIP. Yes he gives you 200 innings a year, which is nice, but no way do I want to tie 14 million a year into my number 3 starter. He is nothing more than a number 3, he can't hang with the better 2's in the league.

You want to sign him to a VAZQUEZ like deal, fine do it. But to make him the highest paid pitcher on our staff, *****.

In the last 6 years where Jon has been a full-time starter, his winning percentage is .554, which makes him much better than a .500 pitcher. (I won't disagree with the other numbers, however)
The only additional number I would add is 28, which is how old he is now. He's probably worth $11-12 mm/year.

Fields at first? You want Santana a year after he was sent back to the minors? Forget about it.

Why do people here completely undervalue Miguel Cabrera's value?

Gio is the only top prospect of that group. Sweeney maybe an everyday player, but he isn't a top prospect. Same goes for Broadway, he might be a #3 starter in the league, but he's nothing special right now. And why would the Marlins want Aardsma?

Cabrera is 24. He has a shot to be a HOF player. That trade would never happen.
