There are just so many rumors around, I can't stop my mind from putting together potential lineups. So here is my latest, and while it includes Hunter/Rowand, I am still against the long-term deals, but it looks like KW is not.

1. Trade Garland + Sisco/Aardsma/Day for Furcal + Cash (possible?)
2. Trade Floyd + Masset + DLS +Anderson for Crawford (possible?)
3. Sign Hunter/Rowand
4. Trade Crede for whatever.

Lineup for '08 becomes:

SS Furcal (Switch) $11mil after cash from Dodgers
CF Hunter/Rowand (Righty) $15mil high end
DH Thome (Lefty) $9mil
1B Konerko (Righty) $12mil
LF Crawford (Lefty) $8.25mil ?
RF Dye (Righty) $9.5mil
C Pierzynski (Lefty) $5.85mil
3B Fields (Righty) $.5mil
2B Richar (Lefty) $.5mil

Beuhrle $14mil
Vazquez $11.5mil
Contreras $10mil
Danks $.5mil
Broadway/Gio/FA

Jenks $.5mil
Thornton $.875
MacDougal $1.95
Logan $.5mil
Wasserman $.5mil
FA/Crede trade

Hall $1.75mil
Ozuna $1.05mil
Owens $.5mil

Depending on who is the fifth starter and who we find to round out the bullpen plus one more bench player, this should bring the team to around $115-125mil.

Man I can't wait until we see the first move KW makes so I can focus a little more. Anyway, have at it.

That's what I do. I just wait until the dust settles.

Well, the team still sucks because the bullpen is still ****ty.

You can sign and trade for all the hitting in the world, but if you have a mediocre starting staff and a crap bullpen, you're not going to win, and that's what you have.

Wait? So you would trade Garland AND others just for Furcal? Wowsa!

I'm willing to bet Kenny lurks here for the comic relief.

With guys like Bedard, Kazmir, Santana also on the trading block, Garland's value goes down. I'm not sure how high it is to begin with, but the others go in the trade to ensure some cash back from the Dodgers so we are not paying all of Furcal's $13mil salary next year.

Me thinks we're in deep **** if Contreras is our #3, the farm is blown for what pitching it has, and all you got out of it was Furcal, Crawford, and some cash.

Like I said, you're still looking to add another arm to the bullpen. Shields would be nice if we could get him for Crede. Otherwise, the likes of Kerry Wood, Jorge Julio, Luis Vizcaino, Keith Foulke are FA's.

As for the starters, Benson, Chacon, Clement, Fogg, Fossum, Garcia, Hernandez are all FA's. Any one of them might make a decent fifth starter if not higher.

That pitching staff is horrible, and why would anyone want Day/Masset/Aardsma/Sisco?

Jeez.

Cracks me up every time.
Including more crap does not get you more value

crap + crap + crap = crap

Just the idea that if you continue to fling **** at the wall, eventually some will stick. With this proposal, that's a LOT of **** being flung. :D:

According to Dave Wills the play by play announcer for the Rays (known at WSI as Bump 34) Kazmir is NOT on the trading block.

people complain about Kw's competancy as a Gm and than suggest trade possibilities that are are impossibly ludicrous. Hey lets trade Uribe & Sisco to the Mets for Reyes and Wagner...HAHA.

That's hardly comparable to what I have suggested but thanks for your input.
