The D-Rays will be asking for a kings ransom in return for those two. Which I don't think the White Sox possess. They may have enough to get one of them, but not both.

I'm pretty sure this would the parameters of such a deal:
TB sends: Kazmir, Crawford
Chicago sends: all minor league players at all levels, Fields, Jenks, Danks, $40 million.

You're getting warmer... FYI... Kazmir is not on the market... If anything the Rays are looking to sign him to a multi year deal...

Hm, we're getting close to Crawford's FA year. He's signed for 5.25M for 2008, with larger club options for 2009 (8.5M) & 2010 (10M), so I wonder if the Rays are interested in dealing him yet?

They are looking for pitching why the hell would they deal Kazmir? If they are considering it they are crazy.

Look for them to deal him halfway through 2010. $10m for a Carl Crawford in 2010 is a steal by any standard.

I'd still do it.

For even a middle market team, I totally agree, but this is the Rays, so who knows...

Not very far from what could go down. I'd rather have our minor leagues develop than sending tons of more prospects to other franchises.

Can we sweeten up the deal by giving Chris Singleton to Tampa Bay for their play by play announcer?

Contreras, Buehrle and Dye to Tampa for Crawford, Kazmir and a prospect

So you think Tampa would be willing to take about $80m of owed money, including many of those millions to an aging arm so they can get rid of one of the best young arms in baseball along with Crawford? Interesting:?:

Besides, getting rid of old slow players and bringing young fast ones may increase your property value.
