Why not the White Sox?

Who cares. He's old and has health issues.

He has problems with JR going back to the strike season.

I have a feeling Schilling would play for whoever offered him the most money.

According to his blog (http://38pitches.com/2007/10/30/free-agency-weird/), these are the teams he wants to play for:

Cleveland, Detroit, Anaheim, New York Mets, Philadelphia, Atlanta, L.A., S.D., Arizona, Chicago Cubs, St. Louis, Milwaukee

Schilling is one of the biggest jerks in baseball and the White Sox shouldn't and won't get him due to the Shillster's hatred of Reinsdorf. The Red Sox have just won the World Series and he's directing all the attention towards himself with his rambling poorly written blogs. If people think Boras/A-Rod are media whores, take a look at the Shill.

The last time I check Shill was over 40 years old and usually hurt. Shill says he only wants a one year contract but he's gonna want at least 8 million, boo-hoo for the Shill. I wouldn't pay this clown over $10 an inning. One of the most selfish modern pro athletes you will ever see.

I thought one of the reasons he left AZ was because his wife had skin cancer, and he wanted to be in a milder climate. Seems there's some sunny areas on that list including AZ again. Did I dream that? :dunno:

Schilling is a dochue bag. I'd rather have him not on my team and have to listen to all his opinions that no one except people in Boston care about. He's a more annoying David Wells.

Really though, wouldn't he just fit right in on the Cubs? They would just be so perfect together.

The Cubs can have him, since they seem willing to overpay for anything these days.

He'd actually be a great fit for them. They need at least two more pitchers to pair with Hamels, and they could get to that World Series next year.

It's sickening how a lot of free agents would want to play in Chicago, but only for the Cubs. The "Schill" is just another example.

Sounds like a perfect fit for the Cubs pitching staff!

He'd be perfect for the Cubs; older players who have their WS rings wanting to cash in, play more day games and have more free time. All he has to do is win 12 games per season and he's another "Cub Legend"...

Schilling and Clemens were separated at birth.

Can you blame Schilling for keeping NL Central teams on his wishlist? He could win 18 games again in that crummy division.

I agree about the Phillies being the best fit for him though. They really need another starter (or two) to go with that offense.

How about Schilling signs with the Reds. I'd love to see him with Dusty... they'd set a single-season record for idiotic statements made at a post-game conference.
