Royce makes just short of 15 times what Buehrle makes. How wrong is that?

Then when teams start losing, fans look around and wonder why there's strife in the clubhouse. That's un-freaking-believable.

And Rauch makes four times what I make. Ballplayers all understand that someone who has been around longer (i.e., Choice and Burly) makes more money, and their time will come.

Buehrle definitely knows his time will come and when it does, it will come big time. If I were Burly mon, it'd be hard for me to forgive management for not giving a large concession for this year...do players think this way, too? If so, it may be very hard to re-sign later because he knows Sox took advantage of him early.

That's true to an extent but what happens if a guy comes up, has 4 great years and then suffers a career ending injury near the end of the fourth season? Then that guy has probably made just over a million dollars in his baseball career and is done. When veterans like Royce gets paid more than four times that for subpar play. The current baseball system screws over young players so that owners have money to spend on older players many of which suck. That just doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

This is true for all sports and most buisness, when you're young credibility is earned, when you're old credibility is implied. Older players imported are more often not any good for a team, considering what they're paid, also true for all sports, See L.A. Dodgers/Baltimore Orioles of years past, or certainly N.Y. Rangers now finished in what place in hockey?

Just illustrates what a bargain Lofton, our best position player right now is. He has been spectacular.

I can see lofton playing like this all year. He took nearly a 7 mill. paycut and i doubt he wants to make 2 mill next season.

Jeez, break my heart. Do you have any idea how long it takes the average human being to make a million dollars? Where is it written that an athlete should be able to make enough money that if he's injured in his twenties he should never have to work another day in his life? Here's a suggestion: get a job and contribute to society.
