View Full Version : 2007 World Series - Red Sox vs Rockies

Fenway

One thing of note.....Colorado beat Boston 2 of 3 at Fenway in June and handed Baeckett is worst outing of the season.

Rockies fans were hoping to come to Boston until they saw the prices.

I want the Rockies to win it, but it's going to be the Red Sox. This week off for the Rockies could kill any sort of momentum or rhythm. Not to mention, the Sawx offense is hot.

I desparately want the Rockies to win but I fear the combo of Boston's momentum, AL home field rights, and the long layover since the end of the NLCS will be too much. Man, I loath the prospect of another year of preening, self-absorbed celebration and myopia from Red Sawx Nation....:(:

nysox35

I see Boston taking it, probably in 6. They are too hot right now, have home field, and will ride the momentum to the win, in my eyes.
I think Colorado pulls a Detroit of 2006 and falls flat in the series.
They've been a fun team to watch though.

If you think I'm going to jinx the Rockies by picking them, you have another think coming. I save that sort of thing for the Cubs.

They're only made of clay
But OUR Sox are here to stay!"

A.L. fan, but, like last year, I'm rooting for the NL. I hope the Rocks kick Boston's ass, but I do want them to lose at least 2 games, so they can't match or do better than the 11-1 postseason mark the Sox did in 2005.

p.s.: I hope to God they don't wear those butt-ugly, black, "priest" jerseys, but I think they will, as they seem to think they have "good luck" in them. At home, please, just wear those white uni's with the purple pinstripes, and ROCKIES across the front, and at Fenway, just wear the road grays with the purlple COLORADO.

I think the Rocks are truly a team of destiny. They're what; 21-1 in their last 22 games? They have done everything right--and have gotten a little bit of luck--during that run to win game after game in pressure situations.

I think (hope) the layoff will only help. Time off between postseason series didn't seem to hurt the White Sox two years ago.

And they're very good at home. I know they have to win at least one game in Boston, but if they can go to Denver tied 1-1, I like their chances a lot.

Rocks in seven. And with all due respect to one of my favorite posters here (hiya Fens), I'll be pulling hard for Colorado. Go Rocks!

They paid $700 million for the team in 2002 and now it is said to have doubled in value. They have also become a major real estate player in the Kenmore area.

Ewww, can't stand Sam Adams. Maybe if they made some Samuel Jackson I'd give it a shot.

Hmm, this should be interesting. I picked against Col last round since I thought the time off would affect them being so hot, but it didn't. Plus, it's not like they're just sitting around doing nothing. Plus they have the confidence from interleague. I would love to see this series go deep, but I don't know if I trust Col's rotation. On paper it's easily Boston, but who knows, that's why you gotta love baseball.

Don't want to make a prediction though, since speculation will get me banned  (message board humor, gotta love it)

The more I look at this series, the harder its getting to pick.

I am an AL fan, because the White Sox are in the AL, and I pull for the AL on principle.

The Red Sox appear to be a far superior team, but, at least in competition with the Rockies, so did Philadelphia.

After Beckett, the Rox have the better pitching staff. The Sawks have better hitters, but I think overall, 1-9, the Rox have proven to be more dependable.

I think if the Red Sox at least split the first two games in Fenway, they will win it in 6 or 7. If the Rockies manage to come home up 2, then God help the Red Sox. But I bet every game is close.

Of course.

:?: He was complimenting Manny's wife.
It's real easy to figure it out when the line is crossed. How would you want your sister or mother (or brother or father) complimented? nysox made her sound like something you can buy at the store.

Saying someone is HOT is a compliement. If someone said my mom was hot I would say thank you. Hot, beautiful, gorgeous, etc all fall under the same umbrella. I am guessing that a lot of people would think it was a compliment.
