It's easy to forget the feeling going into that game, with the White Sox not having won the World Series since 1917. I certainly wasn't happy with the Sox just getting there, and the Sox winning was very much in doubt. That first game was close, and yet the subsequent games would be closer. When the Sox get back to the World Series, I think I will be able to relax more.

I had to listen to the game (and all the games, when I wasn't working) on the radio, but it sounded like Joe Crede's defense was as big a factor as his offense.

I'd say the keys to the game were Crede's stabs at third base, along with Cotts coming in for the 8th and striking out two big hitters, setting up Jenks to face Bagwell.

Crede's defense in game 1 saved the game if I remember correctly.

I was at that game, but I missed the two key moments because of concession stand runs. I was walking back from getting a hot dog when Crede hit his home run; I didn't see the at-bat, but I actually saw the ball go into the stands because I was walking back into my section as he hit it.

When Cotts came in during that jam later in the game, I was nervously pacing the concourse because I was too stressed out to sit in my seat. I watched him get out of it from a TV in the UD concourse.

I was also in attendance at game 1 of the World Series in 2005 and I was in absolute awe of everything. This was something I had dreamt of my entire life, to see the White Sox in the World Series and now it was happening and I was there! I had butterflies in my stomach the whole game. I couldn't sit still and I just remember the ROAR of the crowd. I felt so happy and so fortunate to be able to attend that game with my family. It was wonderful.

4 days until October26's sig update time ...

I was there and it was definitely the greatest baseball game I've ever been to. Not only was the game amazing, but I had a great time tailgating with alohafri & company in Lot B. I'll never forget Mrs. alohafri's awesome Sox cupcakes.

While sitting at the 2003 All-Star Game, I wondered what baseball event could possibly be better... I got my answer on this chilly, October night two years ago.

Crede's defense was sorely missed in '07. I'm not suggested we would have been a 90 win team simply by him being around all season - but our pitching woes were definitely magnified when he isn't there to save hits and extra base hits.

Let's just hope he's healthy in 2008.
