My sports business teacher, who also happens to be an agent with IMG, told my class that this was going to happen weeks ago. Rumors are obviously that George is going through some bad health problems and that most likely in the next 2-3 years the team is going to be sold. He's not positive of this, but thats the rumblings in the sports business world.

One rumor in NY is the family will discuss selling the team now before George passes on. Between the team and YES network you are talking close to FIVE BILLION.

In 1973 he purchased the Yankees from CBS for $8.7 million. Quite a return on his investment.
