None of them want to be involved in the Train Wreck of A-Rod Free Agency?

edit: Then again, Jocketty was fired, so there goes that theory.

Jocketty seemed more or less forced out, if he wasn't fired.

Schuerholz just retiring? I wouldn't be shocked if they somehow lure Dayton Moore back to Atlanta.

EDIT: Nevermind about Moore, see that Asst. GM Frank Wren to take over.

Don't forget Terry Ryan resigning, too.

Damn. That's going to make many people here jump from the ledge.

I'm guessing the new ownership is cutting the payroll budget even more than Time Warner did, and JS just had enough of the bull****. Too bad we cannot get him to run our player development.

The easier of the 2 leagues has gotten even easier in the past couple weeks.

That's a shock!

Sheesh. Why couldn't the Astros get one of these guys instead of old boy Ed Wade? Then again Ryan, Jocketty or Schuerholz would prefer not to work with a meddling owner.

I'm happy with KW and have liked what he has done for the CWS organization, but not one GM in the league has come close to perfoming at the level of John Schuerholz.

I'll be very interested to see a) where Jocketty and Schuerholz end up, and b) who takes their place.

Jocketty was fired, Schuerholz resigned and to me just sounds like he's retiring.

According to ESPN he's moving up to Team President, rather than leaving the organization.

Shuerholz is leaving the GM post to be the team president of the Braves. Frank Wren is going to be the replacement. Regardless of how a GM leaves (firing, resigning, retiring) you're talking about three of the better GM's in the game leaving their position.

Yeah, I just meant that Schuerholz wasn't going to be GM anywhere else.

That I didn't know, thanks.

If he's the team President now, isn't that technically a promotion?

I wonder if he will be getting a pay raise.
